This is quintessential great aged Bordeaux personified. The nose is just amazing. Full of dry cassis, cedar, pencil shavings and minerals, this is just a joy to smell. The palate is even more impressive. Full bodied, dense, concentrated, but retaining elegance and never coming across as un polished or brutish. Flavors are intense and layered and the finish is long and cedary. It doesnt get much better than this. The history of chateau（酒莊歷史）： 1855年分級(jí)為二級(jí)酒莊的Chateau Gruaud Larose位于波爾多左岸Saint Julien, 城堡建筑于1725年便建立, 而1791年時(shí)才正式有了Gruaud Larose這個(gè)名字, 幾百年來(lái)因財(cái)產(chǎn)繼承以及買賣等過(guò)程, 城堡所有權(quán)分分合合, 1917年Cordier家族先買下當(dāng)時(shí)一分為二的Chateau Gruaud Larose其中一半的所有權(quán)-Gruaud Larose Sarget, 并于1935買下令一半Gruaud Larose Bethmann, 直到此時(shí)Chateau Gruaud Larose終于結(jié)束百多年來(lái)的分裂, 在Cordier家族的致力經(jīng)營(yíng)之下, 也出現(xiàn)了極為精采的1961年份, 以及1962, 1966, 1970年等佳釀. 1970年開始酒莊引進(jìn)新的技術(shù)團(tuán)隊(duì), 由技術(shù)總監(jiān)Georges Pauli領(lǐng)軍, 1983年Suez集團(tuán)入主, 1993年又轉(zhuǎn)手到Alcatel Alsthom集團(tuán)旗下, 引進(jìn)計(jì)算機(jī)管理以及許多新科技, 并擴(kuò)大廠房及更新酒窖設(shè)備, 使Chateau Gruaud Larose更為現(xiàn)代化, 1997年Merlaut家族入主, 現(xiàn)今莊主為Jean Merlaut, 1970年代開始雖然酒莊數(shù)度易主, 但仍由Georges Pauli執(zhí)掌的技術(shù)團(tuán)隊(duì)負(fù)責(zé)釀酒. Chateau Gruaud-Larose can lay claim to a remarkably rich heritage despite its troubled and often impassioned past. It has consistently produced a wine of exceptional quality that has been acknowledged all over the world since 1742. The technical team is keen to maintain a subtle balance between working the vineyard whilst fully respecting the environment and the development of the wine based on the harmonious blending of traditions and modernity.Gruaud-Larose stands out its obvious concern to produce a wine of excellence as naturally as possible. The team plans to obtain the ISO 14 000 certification, which would consecrate the efforts of the last decade.

Fragrant, forward nose of black fruits, creme de cassis, pronounced herbaceous notes, rich tobacco and cedar with an underlying earthiness...a lot going on here! Medium body. The palate is greeted with beautiful, pure flavors of currants and cassis, dark fruits, earth, minerals, and fresh cedar thats nicely framed with a faint kiss of toasty oak. Such great balance, with nice harmony between the chewy tannins and acidity. Moderate-plus finish. This Mouton is still quite youthful and should only improve with another 8-13+ years in the cellar. The history of chateau（酒莊歷史）： Chateau Mouton 位于拉菲莊旁。它在十五世紀(jì)已是種植釀酒葡萄的園地，但直到1730年Brame家族買下該地后蓋上房子，該園才算得上是個(gè)象樣的酒莊。后來(lái)他的后代Baron Hecter de Brane發(fā)現(xiàn)赤霞珠(Cabernet Sauvignon)適合在本園生長(zhǎng)，因此引進(jìn)種植后，該園終于成為了走對(duì)路子的名園。 1853年，富有的銀行家Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild買下了Chateau Mouton，并正式改名為Chateau Mouton-Rothschild。十五年后他的堂兄也買下了旁邊的拉菲莊，拉菲莊Chateau Lafite-Rothschild的姓氏Rothschild跟武當(dāng)王一樣。但是在1855年波爾多酒的評(píng)級(jí)中武當(dāng)王并沒(méi)有拉菲那么幸運(yùn)進(jìn)入列級(jí)名莊級(jí)，它只排在第二級(jí)的名。為此他們家族要花上118年的時(shí)間和努力才爭(zhēng)回了級(jí)的榮譽(yù)。 Chateau Mouton 輝煌時(shí)期的開端可以說(shuō)是從1921起，當(dāng)只有二十歲的Baron Philippe Rothschild走進(jìn)莊園開始。為躲避一次世界大戰(zhàn)，Barnon Philippe從巴黎跑到波爾多。短短的一段時(shí)間后，他發(fā)覺(jué)自己非常喜愛(ài)這一片祖先留下的酒莊和葡萄酒。他說(shuō)服了父親把酒莊交給他管理。1922年開始，他正式地成為了酒莊的主管經(jīng)營(yíng)人。Baron Philippe的一生不單單為本酒莊，還為波爾多酒的發(fā)展事業(yè)作出了巨大的貢獻(xiàn)。Baron Philippe自1947年起從亡父處繼承了遺產(chǎn)，正式成為Chateau Mouton 的擁有人。 1987年Baron Philippe去世，很多波爾多酒莊都為他下半旗。1988年起，武當(dāng)王由他女兒Philippine接手，并繼承父親遺志為葡萄酒和家族事業(yè)繼續(xù)努力。Philippine的事業(yè)奮斗心不減其父。她出訪世界各地，積極宣傳葡萄酒的文化，推廣波爾多酒，介紹木桐和家族的系列酒產(chǎn)品，在Chateau Mouton 設(shè)立葡萄酒文化博物館供游人參觀。近年又在智利開創(chuàng)酒園，并釀造出了很好的智利酒。
